Quick answer
Choose the Decarabia figure if you want a more obscure, occult-inspired collectible from Shin Megami Tensei V. Choose the Monokuma figure if you prefer a playful, iconic mascot from Danganronpa.
Design and character appeal
Decarabia is a demon from Shin Megami Tensei V, depicted in the Bright Arts Gallery line with a cute, compact form that contrasts its occult origins. Monokuma is the instantly recognizable black-and-white bear mascot of Danganronpa, known for its sinister grin and role as the series' host. Your choice here is between a niche demon design and a mainstream gaming icon.
Pricing and value
The Decarabia figure is priced at $35.49 (compared to $49.99), while the Monokuma figure costs $32.99 (compared to $54.99). Both offer a significant discount from their comparison prices, but Monokuma is slightly cheaper. Both are new, sealed, and imported from Japan with limited availability.
Decarabia vs Monokuma: trade-offs
- Character niche: Decarabia appeals to Shin Megami Tensei V fans who enjoy the series' demon designs. Monokuma is a mainstream character recognized even outside Danganronpa fandom.
- Price difference: Monokuma is $2.50 cheaper than Decarabia, but both are under $36. The savings are minor, so let character preference guide you.
- Display style: Both are Bright Arts Gallery figures, so they share a similar stylized, chibi-like aesthetic. They will look cohesive together if you collect the line. If you plan to build a full Bright Arts Gallery collection, both fit seamlessly.
