Learn how to use Wyper (Alternate Art) OP15-114 in your deck: timing, combos, and common mistakes for the Sky Island leader support card.
Quick answer
To get the most from Wyper (Alternate Art) OP15-114, play it as a mid-game swing: use its On Play effect to turn a Life card face-up, then clear low-power Characters. Save it for a turn when you can also attack, and avoid playing it into an empty board.
Why Wyper rewards timing over raw stats
At 5 cost and 6000 power, Wyper is not a cheap play. Its value comes from the On Play effect: turning one Life card face-up and then giving all opponent Characters -2000 power for the turn, which often K.O.s 0-power Characters. That effect is strongest when your opponent has multiple small bodies or when you can follow up with attacks.
Because the power reduction only lasts the turn, you need to sequence Wyper before your other attacks. If you play it after attacking, you waste the debuff. Also, the Life card flip is not optional—it can expose a card you would rather keep face-down, so plan around that.
When Wyper fits—and when it doesn't
Wyper shines in Yellow decks that can afford a 5-cost slot and want board control. Sky Island and Shandian Warrior subtypes may matter for future support, but currently the card is self-contained. It is less useful against opponents with no Characters or with high-power boards that survive the -2000 penalty. In those cases, the Life flip is a real cost with little payoff.
If your deck already runs many 5-cost cards, adding Wyper may crowd your curve. Test it in a build that can consistently reach 5 DON!! on turn 3 or 4 and has follow-up attackers to capitalize on the debuff.
Step-by-step: playing Wyper OP15-114
- Check the board before playing: Count your opponent's Characters and note their power. If none have 2000 power or less (or would be reduced to 0), the On Play K.O. effect won't trigger. In that case, consider holding Wyper or using another card. Skip Wyper if the debuff won't clear at least one Character.
- Play Wyper and resolve the Life flip: When you play Wyper, you must turn one card from the top of your Life face-up. Do this before any other actions. Remember that face-up Life cards can be seen by your opponent and may have triggered effects when flipped. Flip the Life card first so you know what information you're revealing.
- Apply the power reduction and K.O.: Give all opponent Characters -2000 power for the turn, then K.O. any with 0 power or less. This happens immediately, so remove the K.O.'d Characters before proceeding. Resolve the K.O. before attacking to open up lanes.
- Attack with Wyper and your board: After the effect, attack with Wyper (6000 power) and any other Characters. The debuff may have weakened blockers or allowed you to attack into Characters that were previously too big. Use the debuff to enable favorable attacks, not just to clear small bodies.
- Use the Activate: Main effect wisely: Wyper also has an Activate: Main effect, but the exact text is not fully shown here. Check the card for details. If it requires resting Wyper or paying a cost, weigh whether it's worth losing an attacker. Don't activate it just because you can—only if it advances your board.
